Kansas Humane Society was founded in 1888 by prominent

the last 100+ years, the Society's services have increased along with
the community's needs. The
Kansas Humane Society also houses animals affected by natural
disasters, domestic violence animal cruelty and other emergencies.
Many animals are taken to nursing homes where they offer their
unique style of comfort and care to residents. And KHS staff and
volunteers educate students and the general public about proper pet
ownership and civic responsibility.
Kristi
Oberg began as the Director of Development at the Kansas Humane
Society in February 2005. Previously, Kristi served as
the development director for the National Conference for Community
and Justice (NCCJ). Prior to that she was the recruitment
manager for the Kansas Children's Service League, and took an active
role in recruiting foster and adoptive parents. She holds a
Master's degree in Communications from
