Red State Road Trip

In the aftermath of the 2004 elections, it seemed like a good time for a road trip. On Inauguration Day 2005, filmmaker Chris Hume set out on a 6000 mile journey in search of America's soul. He interviewed hundreds of regular citizens in the forgotten corners of America. This is their story. www.redstateroadtrip.com

Chris Hume has produced numerous other documentaries. His projects have taken him from the streets of Havana, Cuba, to the volcanic slopes of Montserrat, to the subway tunnels of Los Angeles, to the hurricane ravaged Gulf Coast. He also produces an animated series the super hero Attention Deficit Disorder Man. His work has been seen at Sundance, Slamdance, as well as in festivals in France, Germany, and South Korea. His company is called Shoot and Run Productions. He also edits trailers for the film industry. Some of his trailers include: Corpse Bride, Fahrenheit 911, and Amelie,

"I was quite disturbed by the outcome of the 2004 elections. Rather than wallowing in gloom, I decided to a little "anger management". This project was a catharsis for me, a way to engage with the people of the so called "red states" in this fascinating, divisive and dangerous time in American history. " Chris Hume.
